Fiction Guidelines

Word Limit: 1500-4000 words (though if the story is slightly below or above that, we may still take a look)
Pay Rate: $0.02 a word up to 2,000 words and $0.01 a word beyond 2,000.
Genre: Science Fiction
Language: English
Rights: Interstellar Fiction claims first world electronic publication rights, first print rights, first audio rights, and non-exclusive anthology rights in case we decide to do an annual anthology.

Stories:

  • Must be well-written.
  • Must be formatted in such a way that the story is easy to read in an electronic format.
  • Need not be “hard” science fiction, but realism would be appreciated.
  • Need not be free from excessive profanity, gore, or sexual content; however, the more excessive it is, the less likely we will choose your story. Tread lightly.
  • Must be submitted in an easy-to-read font, such as Arial, Calibri, or Times.
  • Must be submitted as a .doc or .rtf file.
  • Must be submitted via the nifty submissions page.

Please do not submit:

  • Unsolicited revisions of previously rejected stories.
  • Multiple stories at one time.
  • Simultaneous submissions.
